Part of this is that Republicans will be looking for someone to blame. Obviously, it couldn’t be their fault. And blaming McCain wouldn’t stick because of how clearly uncomfortable with the bigotry that the campaign was deliberately trying to evoke. So it must be Palin.
I dearly hope that McCain writes a book about the campaign. Doing so would expose and kill Rovian campaign tactics for a good long time, perhaps forever.

If Ted Stevens gets removed by the Senate Ethics committee, She can, and probably would, select herself (!) to take his place in the Senate, with an election to then follow in 2010 , I think.
Then she’ll be all experienced up for 2012. You betcha!
